A Living Appreciation of George Harrison
My Sweet George is an independent editorial project from Awake Souls, created in appreciation of George Harrison’s music, spiritual searching, creative life, and enduring influence. It makes room for the songs, stories, images, voices, and ideas that continue to gather around his work—from the intimate craft of songwriting to his love of gardens, Indian music, film, friendship, and quiet service.
We believe George’s legacy cannot be separated into neat categories. His art and inward life spoke to one another: the guitar part, the prayer, the studio experiment, the journey to India, the search for meaning beyond fame. My Sweet George approaches that legacy with curiosity, care, and respect, welcoming thoughtful perspectives from listeners, musicians, writers, scholars, friends, and fellow seekers.
The project arrives in the year of the 25th anniversary of George Harrison’s passing, not as a memorial fixed in the past, but as an invitation to encounter what remains alive in his work. Through magazine features, archival research, interviews, video, music, books, and community contributions, My Sweet George traces the many ways his voice continues to offer beauty, humility, devotion, and hope.
Awake Souls is the wider home for this work: an independent platform for art, spirit, memory, and meaningful cultural conversation. Our larger vision is to create a lasting, sensitive archive and gathering place—one that honours George’s legacy while encouraging new creative expression, deeper listening, and a more compassionate relationship with the world around us.
Contact Questions
For the quickest, most useful reply, choose the contact topic closest to your request and include the key details listed above. We welcome thoughtful messages about the magazine, media, submissions, music, partnerships, and shop orders.
When can I expect a reply?
We read every message with care and aim to respond within 5–10 business days. During launches, publication deadlines, or high-volume periods, replies may take a little longer. If your request is time-sensitive, please state the deadline clearly in your message.
Can I submit a story, essay, artwork, or photograph?
Yes. We welcome considered contributions that illuminate George Harrison’s music, life, spiritual legacy, or continuing cultural influence. Please send a concise pitch, a short bio, relevant links or samples, and any rights information for images or archival material. Unsolicited full manuscripts may not be reviewed.
May I use My Sweet George content or images in the media?
Please contact us before reproducing any My Sweet George editorial content, design, photography, or video. Include the exact material you wish to use, where it will appear, the intended audience, format, territory, duration, and publication date. We can only discuss permissions for material we control.
How do I propose a George Harrison cover for the site?
We would love to hear from musicians offering sincere interpretations of George’s songs. Send a private or public listening link, the song title, performer names, a brief note about the arrangement, and confirmation that you hold the necessary recording and composition permissions for your proposed use.
Do you accept partnership or collaboration inquiries?
Yes. We consider partnerships that align with the project’s values of music, cultural care, spiritual inquiry, archival respect, and creative independence. Tell us about your organization, the proposed collaboration, objectives, timeline, audience, budget where relevant, and the best person to contact.
Who should contact you about magazine matters?
For editorial, distribution, advertising, press, stockist, or publication questions, please identify your role and organization and describe your request as specifically as possible. If you are writing about an upcoming issue or feature, include any relevant deadlines, circulation details, or supporting documents.
